About Me

My initiation into birth & women's work was born after experiencing my own two traumatic births. My first birth with my Son was a caesarean (planned and very much unwanted.) He was in a breech position and I found myself in the care of an obstetrician who did not view breech as a variation of normal. My second pregnancy, with my daughter, I was confident I had learnt more about myself (And I had.) I birthed my daughter vaginally, yet still came away traumatised from her birth, I suffered severe pelvic floor damage and was made to feel powerless and incapable. That trauma turned to grief and then anger, this anger beckoning the question "what does it take for a woman to arise from her birth feeling well?"

With that question in mind, I committed to building a new understanding of birth, deep self inquiry and breaking down everything I thought I knew about self and of birth. Through this unravelling I realised how poorly we as a society revere and understand birth & motherhood.

I believe when a mother feels positive about her birth experiences, this has a rippling effect into her family and the wider community. A well mother, is a well community.

Becoming a doula felt like the most aligned and impactful way for me to contribute to this movement and support families to have enjoyable and liberating birth experiences.

What kind of doula am I?

I became a doula in 2021 and attended my first birth in January 2022.

In February 2023 I took the leap of faith and committed to Two Seasons Doula as a sole trader and have gone on to support a multitude of families in their journeys. â€‹

Whilst my own values and beliefs of birth deeply align with birth that takes place in the home. I always remember who I was and how I felt in lead up to my own births, a woman that probably wasn't quite ready for a homebirth but would have deeply valued the care & support from a doula.

I resonate strongly with families who recognise the importance of protecting their birth experience as best as they can. Who value outside support but ultimately trust they are the best decision makers regarding their journey & baby.

My support feels empathetic, realistic and grounded. It feels like a good belly laugh and a safe shoulder to lean on. I bring a warm and inviting energy and lead with intuition & a mother's instinct.

I also recognise not everyone on this planet will get along with one another! And who you invite into your space is such an important decision, and an honour that is not lost on me. Which is why I offer free 30 minute vibe checks for you & your birth partner, so we can meet in person, answer any questions you might have and ultimately be sure the 'vibe' feels right!

Who is a doula?

Doula is Greek and translates to 'womans servant'.

A doula's role is to support & protect the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual experience of the birthing woman and her family.

Doulas are growing in popularity across the globe as women & families are noticing the undeniable benefits and value of inviting a doula into their circle of support.

Each doula works differently and holds different values and beliefs - so it is important you ensure you are aligned with your doula. I offer free 30-minute vibe checks to ensure we are a good fit before you commit to anything!
